Kerman’s Marissa Sanchez voted The Fresno Bee high school Athlete of the Week for Sept. 19-24

Marissa Sanchez of Kerman is The Fresno Bee’s Athlete of the Week for Sept. 19-24.

Sanchez finished with 7,821 votes (61%). Placing second was Maddie Feramisco of Clovis East volleyball who received 3,628 votes (29%).

Sanchez had 28 digs against Kingsburg.

Eighteen Fresno-area high school athletes were nominated drawing from cross country, golf, water polo and girls volleyball.

Previous winners were Evan Torres of Parlier cross country, Stephanie Sanchez of Fowler volleyball, Jordyn Kwalwasser of Clovis East volleyball, Jazzy Vargas of Madera South volleyball and Nailea Fields of Caruthers volleyball.
