The Bee’s Top 25 high school football rankings: Will there be another 1-2 matchup?

When the Tri-River Athletic Conference high school football teams return from their bye week, there will be another Nos. 1-2 matchup on tap in the Central Section between top-ranked Buchanan and No. 2 Clovis West.

The Bears remain No. 1 after rallying for a 31-24 victory over then-No. 2 San Joaquin Memorial.

The Golden Eagles have been impressive this season, most recently knocking off Edison 38-0. Clovis West moves up to No. 2 after it was ranked No. 3 last week.

Buchanan and Clovis West will meet on Sept. 30 at Lamonica Stadium.

Hanford was upset by Redwood 26-20 in overtime. The Bullpups fell nine spots to No. 13 while Redwood enters the rankings at No. 25.
