Anthony Fernandez of Firebaugh High is The Fresno Bee high school football Player of the Week for Week 5.

Fernandez finished with 9,233 votes (54%) to finish ahead of Gage Armbruster of Corcoran who talled with 6,457 votes (38%).

Markel Sanders of Clovis West was third with 1,006 votes (6%).

Fernandez propelled the Eagles to a 14-7 victory over Immanuel when he had two rushing touchdowns.

Twenty-two players were nominated.

Voting ended at 11:59 p.m. Sunday.

Previous winners are Adam Delgado of Kerman (Week 4), Noah Tasi of Coalinga (Week 3), Andrew Chavez of Clovis North (Week 2) and Jacob Rangel of San Joaquin Memorial (Week 1).
