There’s a new top-10 team in The Bee’s prep football rankings after a close road win

A matchup between The Bee’s top-ranked teams will take center stage in Week 4 in the Central Section.

Buchanan remains No. 2 following a 35-14 home victory over Foothill-Palo Cedro, the No. 1 team in Maxpreps’ North Section rankings.

Next up for the Bears is a showdown at No. 1 Liberty-Bakersfield on Friday.

There are changes below the top two.

Bullard fell six spots to No. 13 after a 24-20 loss to Frontier. The Titans move ahead of Bullard at No. 12.

San Joaquin Memorial remains No. 3 after a 10-7 loss to Queen Creek of Arizona, No. 13 in Maxpreps’ state rankings. The Panthers gave up a late touchdown.

Clovis West, Hanford and Central remain Nos. 4, 5 and 6, but Central Valley Christian moves up to No. 7 after a 34-14 victory over Bakersfield Christian.

Kingsburg cracks the top 10 after a 21-14 victory at Dinuba.
