Bee’s Best: San Joaquin Memorial’s Jacob Rangel wins The Bee’s Player of the Week for Week 1

Jacob Rangel of San Joaquin Memorial wins The Fresno Bee Player of the Week poll for Week 1.

Rangel tallied 29,006 votes (48%) to finish ahead of Erik Cervantes of Madera South who picked up 21,334 votes (35%).

Coming in third was Caleb Sisco of Liberty-Madera Ranchos (4,822, 8%).

Rangel had eight tackles to help the Panthers to a 34-0 victory over Clovis North in the season opener.

Twenty-two players were nominated. Voting ended at 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
