Bee’s Best: Caruthers’ Nailea Fields is The Bee’s Girls Athlete of the Week winner for May 23
Nailea Fields of Caruthers track and field is the winner of the Fresno Bee Athlete of the Week poll for May 23-28.
The state champion in the discus picked up 5,125 votes (65%).
She beat out JuJu Martinez of Bullard softball who tallied 2,426 votes (31%).
Gizelle Aguirre of Caruthers softball came in third with 144 votes (2%).
The athletes nominated were from softball and track and field.
The poll closed at 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
