Jair Alvarez of Madera South baseball wins The Fresno Bee Boys Athlete of the Week poll for 23-28 after totaling 5,377 votes (79%).
He finished ahead of Carson Sandoval of Clovis East basebal (1,104 votes, 16%) and Alex Righetti, also of Clovis East baseball (242 4%).
The athletes nominated came from baseball, golf and track and field where they led their teams to championship performances.
The poll closed at 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
