Prep playoffs: All-TRAC finals set in D-I softball and D-II baseball. See all the matchups

All-Tri-River Athletic Conference finals are set in two of 12 Central Section baseball and softball divisions this weekend.

In Division I softball, third-seeded Clovis will play No. 4 Central on Saturday night at Fresno State’s Margie Wright Diamond.

Led by ace pitcher Lauryn Carranco and Kaylynn Munoz, Clovis rolled to a 9-0 victory over No. 2 Buchanan on Tuesday.

Clovis jumped out on the Bears, scoring five runs in the third inning, highlighted by Munoz’s three-run double for a 3-0 lead.

That was more than enough for Carranco who held Buchanan to one hit. She finished the game with eight strikeouts.

Central jumped to a 9-0 lead Wednesday on No. 8 Stockdale and beat the Mustangs 9-6. Stockdale eliminated top-seeded Clovis North in the quarterfinals.

Central, Clovis East to meet

In D-II baseball semifinals, Aaron McCurley pitched 6 1/3 innings with eight strikeouts and Logan Pontecorvo drove in two runs to help No. 9 Central to a 4-1 victory over No. 5 Ridgeview.

Mikey Klein recorded the save for the Grizzlies, who will face No. 6 Clovis East after the Timberwolves defeated No. 2 Arroyo Grande 6-2.

Clovis East swept the Grizzlies in a three-game series in the Tri-River Athletic Conference this past season.

The Grizzlies and Timberwolves will play at Pete Beiden Field at Bob Bennett Stadium at 6 p.m. Friday.
