Bee’s Best: Ryan Maddox wins The Bee’s Girls Athlete of the Week poll for Feb. 28-March 5

Ryan Maddox of Clovis North softball is the winner of The Bee’s high school Girls Athlete of the Week poll for Feb. 28-March 5.

She totaled 46,812 votes (64%), ahead of Brynn Close of Riverdale softball who had 23,819 votes (33%).

Finishing third was Kameryn Cordova of Fowler softball (1,365, 2%).

Twelve prep athletes were nominated.

The nominees were from basketball, lacrosse, soccer, softball and track.

The poll closed at midnight Sunday.

Recent winners include: Athena Tomlinson of Clovis West basketball, Melayna Vasquez of Fowler soccer, Darleth Felix of Tulare Union basketball, Morgan Triguiero of Caruthers basketball, Anna Marshall of Caruthers basketball, Anisa Torres of Caruthers basketball, Krissy Turman of Caruthers basketball.
