Bee’s Best: Krissy Turman is The Fresno Bee’s Girls Athlete of the Week winner for Feb. 21-26

Krissy Turman of Caruthers basketball won the The Bee’s high school Girls Athlete of the Week poll for Feb. 21-26.

Turman had 24,282 votes (51%) to finish ahead of Mia Nishikawa of Central softball who received 10,079 votes (21%).

Diana Garcia of Sanger soccer finished third with 7,128 votes (15%).

Fourteen prep athletes were nominated.

The nominees were from basketball, soccer, softball and wrestling.

The poll closed at noon Saturday.

Recent winners include: Athena Tomlinson of Clovis West basketball, Melayna Vasquez of Fowler soccer, Darleth Felix of Tulare Union basketball, Morgan Triguiero of Caruthers basketball, Anna Marshall of Caruthers basketball and Anisa Torres of Caruthers basketball.
