Bee’s Best: Anisa Torres is The Fresno Bee’s Girls Athlete of the Week winner for Feb. 14-19

Anisa Torres is the winner of The Bee’s high school Girls Athlete of the Week for Feb. 14-19.

She finished with 81,039 votes (57%) to finish ahead of Clovis North soccer’s Mary Ramirez who received 50,680 votes (35%).

Finishing third was Isabella Bosacci of Clovis basketball. She had 4,360 votes (3%).

Torres finished with 15 points and had seven assists in the Blue Raiders’ win over Bullard in the Central Section Division III playoffs. She also had six steals.

Nineteen prep athletes were nominated.

The nominees were from basketball, soccer and softball.

The poll closed at noon Saturday.

Recent winners include: Athena Tomlinson of Clovis West basketball, Melayna Vasquez of Fowler soccer, Darleth Felix of Tulare Union basketball, Morgan Triguiero of Caruthers and Anna Marshall of Caruthers.
