Bee’s Best: Beunju Moon is the winner of the Boys Athlete of the Week poll for Feb. 7-12

Beunju Moon of Lemoore basketball won The Fresno Bee’s Athlete of the Week poll for Feb. 7-12.

Moon finished with 100,034 votes (58%). Coming in second was Orion Tomlinson of Fresno Christian basketball (46,270 votes, 27%). Jesus Rodriguez of Central soccer came in third with 25,312 votes (15%).

Moon helped the Tigers snap Mt. Whitney’s 26 game winning streak when he scored 21 points.

Fifteen prep athletes were nominated.

The poll closed at noon Saturday.

The nominees were from baseball, basketball and soccer.

Recent winners: Orion Tomlinson of Fresno Christian basketball, Camden Thompson of Clovis East basketball, Landon Almeida of Caruthers basketball and Ismael Gonzalez of Riverdale soccer.
