Bee’s Best: Darleth Felix is the Girls Athlete of the Week winner for Jan. 24-29

With 56,065 votes (50%), Darleth Felix of Tulare Union basketball is the The Bee’s high school Girls Athlete of the Week winner for Jan. 24-29.

Felix finished ahead of Treasure Franklin of Bullard basketball who received 42,891 votes (38%). Coming in third was Mia Carrillo of Immanuel soccer (9,115 votes, 8%).

Felix finished with 24 points in the Tribe’s victory over Monache.

Fifteen athletes were nominated.

The nominees were from basketball and soccer.

The poll closed at noon Saturday.

The past two week’s winners: Athena Tomlinson of Clovis West basketball and Melayna Vasquez of Fowler soccer.

Coaches may nominate an athlete for next week’s prep poll by email to agalaviz@fresnobee.com.
