Bee’s Best: Landon Almeida is the Boys Athlete of the Week winner for Jan. 24-29
Landon Almeida of Caruthers basketball is this week’s winner of The Bee’s Boys Athlete of the Week poll for Jan. 24-29.
Almeida totaled 139,023 votes (61%) to finish in front of Ismael Gonzalez of Riverdale soccer who tallied 87,945 votes (38%).
Almeida had a career-high 42 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in the Blue Raiders’ victory over Orosi.
Thirteen athletes were nominated.
The nominees were from basketball and soccer.
The poll closed at noon Saturday.
The past two week’s winners were Orion Tomlinson of Fresno Christian basketball and Camden Thompson of Clovis East basketball.
