Bee’s Best: Aaliyah Thompson is The Bee’s Athlete of the Week winner for Jan. 3-8
Aaliyah Thompson of Corcoran basketball is the winner of The Bee’s Athlete of the Week for Jan. 3-8.
She finished with 71,411 votes (55%) to finish ahead of Camden Thompson of Clovis East basketball who received 39,290 votes (30%).
Coming in third was Natalie Ochoa of Clovis soccer who picked up 15,561 votes (12%).
Thompson scored 32 points and had 15 rebounds in a 93-22 win over Farmersville.
Seventeen athletes were nominated last week.
The nominees were from basketball, soccer and wrestling.
The poll closed at noon Saturday.
