Bee’s Best: Landon Keene is The Bee’s Athlete of the Week winner for Dec. 20-23

Landon Keene of Clovis North soccer is the winner of The Bee’s Athlete of the Week for Dec. 20.23.

He finished with 7,881 votes (89%).

Finishing second was Carter Glick of Mt. Whitney basketball who picked up 769 votes (9%).

Keene scored the game-winning goal in the final minute, giving the Broncos a 2-1 win over Tulare Western in overtime.

Ten Fresno-area high school athletes were nominated.

The nominees were from basketball and soccer.

The poll closed at noon Saturday.

Past winners: Grace Van Der Kooi of Central Valley Christian volleyball, Katelyn Goforth of Kerman volleyball, Andrew Gray of Madera water polo, Krisalynn Turman of Caruthers volleyball, Margaret Arambula of Mission Oak volleyball, Kristen Landen of Clovis West volleyball, Gabby Russell of Clovis West volleyball, Goforth again, Marissa Mendrin of Kerman volleyball, Susie Phillips of Central Valley Christian golf, Gianna Mastro of Clovis West tennis, Evan Torres of Parlier cross country, Kaydence Cortez-Garcia of Clovis West soccer, Kenyah Stubbs of Hanford basketball, Athena Tomlinson of Clovis West basketball, Orion Tomlinson of Fresno Christian basketball and Briajane Wade of Sunnyside basketball.
