Fresno Fuego beat Seahorses for fourth straight victory
Christian Chaney scored again Saturday night to lead the Fresno Fuego to a 1-0 victory against the host Southern California Seahorses in La Mirada.
Chaney, who scored twice Thursday in the Fuego’s 2-1 victory against Burlingame at Chukchansi Park, scored his ninth goal of the season in the 31st minute off an assist from Alvaro Nogales.
It was the fourth straight Premier Development League victory for the Fuego (4-2-0) since Brian Zwaschka took over as interim coach following the resignation of Scott Lanigan.
The Fuego next head to Provo, Utah, to take on the BYU Cougars in back-to-back matches June 9 and 11. The Cougars (2-2-3) played the Las Vegas Mobsters to a 1-1 draw Thursday and are idle until the Fuego matches.
