Former Central High star Xavier Worthy made big plays for Texas on Saturday afternoon against Oklahoma.

Worthy finished with nine receptions for 261 yards and two touchdowns in the Longhorns’ loss to the Sooners in the Red River Showdown at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.

Here are the plays Worthy made for Texas, including the first play of the game with reaction from social media.

Worthy had his second touchdown reception to tie the game at 48 in the fourth quarter and redeemed himself after he fumbled on a kickoff return that was recovered by former Clovis West star Caleb Kelly.

He also had a big catch in the fourth quarter, but the drive stalled.

Worthy was trending on Twitter because of his big day.

Worthy played for Central High and helped the Grizzlies to the school’s first California Interscholastic Federation Division 1-AA championship in 2019. He had 992 yards and 16 touchdowns as a junior.

His senior season was canceled because of COVID-19.
