Can’t make it to Los Angeles? New mural pays tribute to Kobe Bryant in Fresno

The Kobe Bryant mural is now done in Fresno.

After getting started on Bryant mural on Thursday, artist Omar “Super” Huerta on Monday finished the mural that shows the former Los Angeles Lakers legend along with his daughter, Gianna.

The mural also lists the seven other victims killed in a helicopter crash in Calabasas on Jan. 26.

Bryant fans flocked to the mural when Huerta started work at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Mourners brought candles and chanted “Kobe, Kobe, Kobe” at 8:24 p.m. Bryant wore Nos. 8 and 24 during his NBA career.

“I wanted everyone to come out and be there for it,” Huerta said. “It was a great turnout. I didn’t look back at all the first two hours because I was just focused on what I was doing.”

Huerta is inviting the public to come out and bring candles.

The mural is located at 418 N. Blackstone Ave, just north of East Divisadero Street.
