Linda Marie (letter Aug. 7) has been reading my mind. This expiration date issue is causing a lot of people to think food is not fit to eat after that date. It represents the last date they can guarantee the freshness.
It grieves me to see moms on food stamps throwing out good food for fear of harming their children. It may not be at its best, but it is still good food.
