Journey’s ‘bush league’ cancellation
Two big thumbs down to Journey for canceling the Aug. 28 show at Save Mart Center. Why did the band members cancel? Basically, because they wanted to do a combined show with Santana at the Los Angeles Forum instead the same night, which will make them more money.
The show at the SMC was booked a couple of months ago; it seems they could have worked around it and had the Forum show on another night, or perhaps rescheduled the SMC show. And even if this was not possible, they made a commitment and they should have kept it, pure and simple.
Absent illness, death, or other personal tragedy, one should live up to one’s commitments. I am still a fan of Journey, but this cancellation is bush league.
