Our leaders openly ignore laws, so why should citizens obey them?

An interesting article on the front page of The Fresno Bee about why California gun owners may be breaking the law starting July 1 (June 26). Is it really that big of a surprise that citizens may not be inclined to follow new laws?

Congressmen and senators breaks laws, presidential primary candidates break laws, and even the U.S. attorney generals have little concern for the law of the land. Ironically, the state of California defies any laws from the federal government that its leaders don’t like and actively flaunt that fact nationally.

I don’t think the question should be, will California’s citizens be breaking the laws July 1? The question should be why would they attempt to keep them?
