Calexit talk gets sillier by the moment

Calexit supporters get more ridiculous by the day. One wrote that California could field an army as effective as Canada’s. Canada! The budgeted total of active and reserve troops in the Canadian military is 95,000, according to Canada’s National Post newspaper.

he USA, by contrast, has nearly 1.3 million members between active and reserve troops. The natural resources of Canada are desired by other nations. A 95,000 person army is not the deterrent; our U.S. military is.

California politicians spent weeks poking at the federal government, saying we don’t need the feds – until the Oroville dam problem. Suddenly, the same politicians had their hands out. We have an abysmal record in maintaining our infrastructure. Why should a taxpayer in Iowa have to foot the bill for our carelessness? This is why so many people hate Californians.

We get 25 percent of our electricity from out of state and will need 35 percent once Diablo Canyon closes. Looking at the numbers shows how delusional Calexit backers are. Leftist politicians want to exit the U.S. because they don’t want to be shackled by that “pesky” Constitution. They want that barrier to their big-government goals removed.
