Educators: Don’t coddle ‘unruly or sniveling students’
The article “Schools support upset students,” (Nov. 11) stated that Fresno Unified School District and Fresno State are offering special counseling to students who are in crisis. They fear that they or their parents might be deported or they might be subject to racial, ethnic, religious, gender and sexual-orientation bias, because Donald Trump was elected president.
If students or their parents have broken our immigration laws, they should be deported. That has nothing to do with Trump. As to being subject to bias, that is a “cause and effect” phenomena. If people behave in a moral and civil manner, they will not be subject to bias.
The schools’ job is to teach, not to coddle unruly or sniveling students. Liberal school administrators and teachers had better get the message that we citizens are tired of political correctness. They had better get back to basics or get another job. There’s a new sheriff in town.
