Hail falls in Fresno area. Here’s how long the storm and freezing temperatures will last

Small hail fell on the central San Joaquin Valley floor Tuesday afternoon, the National Weather Service in Hanford said.

The hail began falling in some parts of the Valley after 1 p.m. and it’s possible it will continue until 6 p.m., meteorologist Felix Castro said.

He added there were brief thunderstorms in the Visalia area during the day.

Rainfall will taper off Wednesday evening before overnight freezing temperatures for the next three nights, Castro said.

A freeze warning is in effect from 3 a.m. Wednesday until 8 a.m. Friday. Low temperatures are expected to be 28 degrees.

But warmer temperatures are back in the forecast, Castro said. After the cold spell, the weather is expected to warm back up again to springlike temperatures in the 70s.
