Man, 19, has major injuries after car falls down Fresno County hillside, CHP says

A man was flown to a Fresno-area hospital with potentially major injuries after his car left the roadway and crashed several hundred feet down a hillside, according to California Highway Patrol.

Callers reported seeing the sedan leave the roadway on Highway 180 near Highway 63 in eastern Fresno County at just before 9 a.m. Tuesday, CHP said.

It was not immediately clear what caused the crash but the sedan traveled about 300 feet down a hillside and came to rest upside down, CHP said.

The driver, a 19-year-old man, was wearing a seatbelt and was flown by helicopter to an area hospital with what could be major injuries, officers said.
