A funnel cloud in the central San Joaquin Valley? California weather agency investigating

A funnel cloud was reported in the central San Joaquin Valley on Monday around the same time that a tornado warning was issued.

KSBW Action News 8 from Bakersfield posted a video sent in by a viewer on the station’s Twitter account of a funnel cloud.

The funnel cloud could be seen in the distance of a video that was recorded from an airplane. A caption on the video said it was southwest of Lemoore.

National Weather Service meteorologist Dave Spectre told The Bee that the agency had not yet confirmed if a tornado had touched down in Kern or Kings counties.

The NWS was looking into it, he said.

The NWS issued a tornado warning for Kern County just after 4 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. The warning came in the midst of a promised storm blowing through the central San Joaquin Valley.
