Class of 2020: Parlier High School
Parlier High School 2020 Graduation Speech
Principal’s note
To the Class of 2020:
I wanted to take a few moments to congratulate our wonderful seniors for their upcoming graduation. Although the final months of your final year was unprecedented, I firmly believe you will have many more opportunities to continue being successful throughout your life. Most importantly, those successes will be celebrated with your loved ones by your side.
The 2020 year has taught all of us the importance of being resilient, optimistic, and to persevere. As a principal and a father of a senior, I can honestly say that it hurts that we won’t be able to see you all walk across the stage in a traditional setting with thousands in attendance hearing your name. Nevertheless, it challenges all of you to pursue higher goals beyond high school: college graduations, program completions, career advancements, or perhaps serving in the military.
I am proud to be your principal. Most importantly, you have made your parents and loved ones very proud. Although we can’t replace what you have lost, you have so many people striving to make your last few months special. I want to say thank you to all of them for all of their efforts. I would like to leave you with a few words of encouragement and my wishes for the Class of 2020. Life isn’t easy. Life isn’t fair. Nevertheless, you are powerful, resourceful, intelligent and ready to take on this world. When you face roadblocks, drive around them and never let anything or anyone stop you from finding success and happiness. Finally, never forget, “Once a Panther, ALWAYS a Panther!”
