Superintendent’s note:
Dear Class of 2020,
Although school did not end as you expected, please do not forget all the amazing memories you created this year. You forged friendships that will last in good times and through difficult obstacles, while learning and growing in your life. I know you have persisted in your education this year, but the experiences you will never forget are those in these final months of school while separated from your teachers and classmates. Regardless of these challenging circumstances, you have persevered!
There is a saying, “Today is the beginning of the rest of your life.” Although our world is complicated right now and it feels as though there is uncertainty all around, you must hold steady and always choose kindness and compassion in every action. Boldly travel the path of fairness and equity for all.
Over the summer, continue to social distance and follow proper health guidelines. Please be cautious and considerate of others in your words and deeds because your actions now as young adults will directly affect the recovery of our community. If there is one lesson we have all learned during this unprecedented time, we must put others above self so we can all rise together.
I join your school district superintendent and board of education in wishing you the very best for your future. We are proud of you! This time of physical and emotional distance will pass and our community, nation and world will rejoin each other even stronger than before. I wish you much success, happiness and health. Congratulations, Class of 2020!
