All four of the Fresno City Council races appeared to be headed in the same direction as election night results after an updated vote count Thursday afternoon.

Some mail-in votes remain to be counted countywide. Another update can be expected sometime next week. Fresno County Clerk/Registrar of Voters James Kus said he plans to certify the election by June 26.

Here’s an updated look at the vote count for the four Fresno City Council races as of 2:32 p.m. on Thursday.

Fresno City Council District 1 race

State Center Community College Trustee Rob Fuentes remains in the lead with 37.30%. Central Unified Trustee Naindeep Singh is in a close second with 36.08%. They appear to be headed to a November runoff.

Two other candidates were vying for the spot to replace outgoing Councilmember Annalisa Perea, who is running for State Assembly. Joe Hinojosa was next in line with 13.23%, and Monte Forkas had 13.05%.

Fresno City Council District 3 race

State Assemblymember Joaquin Arambula remains in the lead with 28.23%, followed by Fresno Unified Trustee Keshia Thomas at 26.85% in another tight race. Both appear to be headed to a November runoff.

A total of seven candidates were vying for the spot to replace outgoing Councilmember Miguel Arias. Former West Park Elementary School Board Trustee Fernando Alvarez was in third with 15.92%.

Fresno City Council District 5 race

Incumbent Brandon Vang’s slim majority lead has stuck, which increased slightly to 52.21% as of Thursday’s updated count. If it holds, Vang will win outright. If not, a runoff with State Center Community College Trustee Danielle Parra, who is in second at 30.48%, is plausible.

The two other challengers, Jose Leon Barraza, a former Fresno County Director of Economic Development, snagged 11.97% of the vote, and entrepreneur Nickolas Wildstar grabbed 5.11% as of Thursday’s count.

Fresno City Council District 7 race

Nav Gurm, an attorney and former City Hall staffer, remains in the lead with 38.36%. Community Activist Ariana Martinez Lott was still following closely behind at 36.83%. They appear to be headed for a November runoff.

Business advocate AJ Rassamni remains in third with 15.76% in the race to succeed termed-out Councilmember Nelson Esparza, who is running for the Board of Equalization.
