An avid skydiver who had made nearly 300 jumps died in a parachuting accident, Arizona police and news sources reported.

Ann Wick, 55, of Minnesota, died in the accident at Sky Dive Arizona at about 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, the Eloy Police Department said in a news release.

Police and Federal Aviation Administration investigators are looking into her death, which occurred when she encountered “complications” during her descent, officials said.

Wick was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

“The Skydive Arizona community is saddened by the loss of a cherished member of the skydiving family,” the company said in a statement to The Arizona Republic.

Wick, who had completed 267 jumps before the accident, did not deploy her reserve chute after her parachute had technical problems, the center said.

Police ask anyone with information to call 520-466-7324.

Eloy is about a 65-mile drive southeast from Phoenix.
