Hikers stumbled upon a woman’s body near a Utah waterfall, deputies said.
She’s been identified a week later.
The woman’s body was discovered at about 10 a.m. Sept. 1 near Battle Creek Falls by Pleasant Grove, the Utah County Sheriff’s Office said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
She has been identified as 23-year-old Lela Anne Wooley of Pleasant Grove, deputies said in a Sept. 7 tweet.
A medical examiner determined her cause of death was from blunt force trauma, deputies said.
Deputies said the manner of her death is not clear yet.
The investigation is ongoing.
Hikers can reach Battle Creek Falls by going on a 1.2-mile out-and-back hike into a canyon.
Pleasant Grove is about 35 miles southeast of Salt Lake City.
