Fresno Unified and the Fresno Teachers Association have reached a tentative agreement after months of negotiations on salary, class size and more – avoiding a threatened strike.

The announcement comes a day before an outside fact-finding report is set to make recommendations on issues the two have failed to agree on for more than a year.

A news conference is set for 1 p.m at Leavenworth Elementary School.
