Four people were detained Monday after allegedly stealing a white Kia and crashing it into a parked vehicle in Fresno.

Fresno Police Sgt. Diana Trueba Vega said officers took the four into custody at about 11:48 a.m. near Ventura Street and Hazelwood Boulevard, close to Al’s Rico Tacos.

The suspects were taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment before being booked into Fresno County Jail on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle.

Trueba Vega said a disturbance involving another group occurred at the taco shop before the crash, as authorities were watching close by.

Several of the suspects were reportedly armed, but no shots were fired, police said.
