A teenage stabbing victim was found at Sunnyside High School on Wednesday morning, police said.

Officers were called the school around 6 a.m. and found the male, described as being in his late teens, with a stab wound to the chest.

He was taken to a hospital and needed surgery, but was considered to be in stable condition, police said.

The victim was “not fully cooperative” with the investigation, which included police tape blocking off the campus parking lot.

Police do not believe the stabbing occurred at the school and were working to determine where it may have taken place. The investigation is ongoing.
