Fresno County deputies arrest two suspects in 2019 killing of Selma man

After more than seven years, two people have been arrested in the 2019 death of a manr near Fowler.

Authorities arrested Celeste Aguirre and Juan Cervantes Jr. — 26 and 29, of Clovis — Fresno County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Tony Botti announced Tuesday.

Aguirre and Cervantes are facing murder charges in connection to the death of Jose Vasquez, 18 of Selma, in 2019.

A school bus driver spotted Vasquez’s body while on his route just outside Fowler on in February 2019.

Vasquez was found lying in a narrow roadway at Springfield and Claremont Avenues and died of a gunshot wound, authorities said.
