Update: 19-year-old man killed in shooting at Fresno mobile home park identified

A 19-year-old man was killed in the Sunday morning shooting at a Fresno mobile home park, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said in an update Monday.

Nehemiah Gonzalez was shot at Flamingo Mobile Home Park on Central Avenue just west of Highway 99. Deputies responded to reports of a shooting around 6:45 a.m. and saw Gonzalez and a woman suffering from gunshots.

Initially, the Sheriff’s Office on Sunday reported there were “multiple victims” at the scene. On Monday, FCSO spokesperson Tony Botti said the victims were Gonzalez and the woman, who was taken to a local hospital.

The Sheriff’s Office said the shooting occurred outdoors on the property. Botti said authorities don’t believe Gonzalez or the other victim lived at the mobile home park.

Botti said dozens or rounds were fired, and authorities believe the shooting was an isolated incident.

The man killed had prior contact with law enforcement, Botti said.

No suspects were identified.

Botti said it was FCSO’s 14th homicide investigation of the year; four of them originated in smaller cities and their respective police departments requested the Sheriff’s Office to take over the investigations.

Authorities are still investigating and asking anyone with any information to call the detective at 559-600-8217 or Valley Crime Stoppers at 559-498-7867.
