An Uber driver was shot on Thanksgiving in Fresno.

Officers responded to the shooting at 8:10 p.m. in the area of Tupman Street and George Avenue.

Officers found the victim with a graze wound to the back of the head, Fresno Police Lt. Alfonso Castillo said.

He was taken to a local hospital and was in stable condition.

Castillo said the Uber driver was in an altercation with a person who had requested a ride. The altercation led the driver to ask the passenger to exit the vehicle.

When the passenger exited the vehicle, the alleged suspect shot three times into the vehicle, striking the driver once in the back of the head, Castillo said.

There is no suspect information, Castillo said. The shooting is being investigated. Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 559-621-7000.
