Deputies responded to Old Auberry Road after receiving a call at 11:30 a.m. about possible shots being fired and an injured person. Deputies found a person who was injured along Old Auberry Road, just north of Auberry Road.

The person was pronounced dead. He was identified on Nov. 20 as 43-year-old Joie Carrell of Fresno.

Sheriff’s homicide detectives and the Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene to begin an investigation.
