A woman killed in a two-vehicle collision early Sunday has been identified by the Fresno coroner.

Crystal Barrera, 30, of Fresno was killed at Cedar and McKinley avenues following a crash with another vehicle that had been traveling at a high rate of speed.

Police said just before 1:45 a.m. a Honda was traveling north on Cedar at a high rate of speed and approached the intersection before it rear-ended a Chevy Impala in the No. 1 lane.

The impact pushed the Chevy through the intersection and into the southbound lanes of Cedar.

The driver in the Impala suffered serious injuries and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center. Barrera, the passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Honda was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.

The driver of the Honda was on suspicion of DUI, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
