A suspect wanted for allegedly killing his wife during a domestic dispute Saturday in Reedley was shot and killed Sunday afternoon by deputies with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office.

She was identified Monday as Yesennia Rocha, 43, of Reedley.

Deputies said Michael Rocha of Reedley was involved in an altercation with his wife at a home Saturday night that led to multiple shots fired in front of their kids and family.

Deputies said Rocha, 43, fled in his Chevy truck and was located around 10 a.m. in the Woodlake area. He then led authorities on a pursuit.

Rocha fired a rifle at deputies, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said. He stopped in the area of Road 222 and Avenue 340, outside of Woodlake, and got out of the truck and fired multiple rounds at deputies.

Deputies shot back, hitting Rocha, who was pronounced dead at the scene. No deputies were injured.

The Visalia Police Department is investigating the officer-involved shooting.

The Reedley Police Department is investigating the homicide.
