A sergeant heard the gunshot while in the parking lot and quickly set up a perimeter with arriving officers after witnesses pointed out the suspect, who hopped a couple of fences into a residential area. Officers were able to find the suspect who was detained.
Officers backtracked the suspect location and recovered a gun. Officers also found ammunition in his pocket.
The teen will be booked into juvenile hall on multiple counts of robbery, attempted carjacking and assault with a deadly weapon, Cervantes said.
No injuries were reported.
