A man in his 70s was shot and killed in Fresno on Saturday, police said.

Officers responded to the 5600 block of North Cleo Avenue just after 10 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. There they found the victim, who had been shot at least once in the upper body, in the backyard of the home.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

He was identified by police in an update Monday as 70-year-old Carl Johnson.

Police said Johnson was a family friend of the residents and was invited over to look through items prior to them being sold at a yard sale. Police said Stewart Coleman, 46, began to argue with Johnson, who attempted to leave.

Coleman allegedly shot Johnson once, striking Johnson in the upper body.

Coleman was arrested.

No other victims were located at the home.

A gun was found at the scene, police said.
