Pedestrian in his 20s killed in hit-and-run collision on Fresno road, police say

A pedestrian was killed in a fatal hit-and-run early Wednesday in Fresno, police said.

Officers responded just before 5 a.m. to Olive and Rowell avenues about a person lying in the road.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Fresno police Lt. Larry Bowlan said the victim appears to be in his 20s and was struck by a vehicle.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit detectives and were looking for surveillance video in the area that may have captured the unknown involved vehicle and/or incident, Bowlan said.

Police did not have other details and are trying to confirm the victim’s identity.
