Body of missing Fresno County woman found in canal and identified, deputies say
A missing Sanger woman was found dead in a canal Monday morning.
At 8 a.m., the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said a worker saw a body in the canal, located near S. Newmark and E. American avenues. First responders arrived and located the body.
The dive unit entered the water and recovered 53-year-old Linda Gaona.
Fresno County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Tony Botti said no suspicious circumstances have been found
Gaona was reported missing May 25 and frequented the area she was found.
