Father charged with murder in Fresno after allegedly stabbing son, police say

A father is in Fresno County jail after he allegedly killed his son Wednesday afternoon.

Officers responded to the incident at 4:47 p.m. near Cedar and Shaw avenues regarding a fight and found Javoeea Blackman, 25, on the ground at the front door of an apartment building.

Police said Blackman had a stab wound to the chest. He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he died.

Blackman’s father, 52-year-old Bryan Blackman, initially told officers his son was banging on his front door, causing a disturbance.

Bryan Blackman also told officers he did not know how his son was injured, but later confessed to stabbing his son.

Bryan Blackman was booked into the Fresno County jail on a murder charge.
