The body of a Selma man who went missing in 2020 has been recovered.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said the body belonging to Miguel Alonso Garcia was dug up on a Kingsburg property, located on the 400 block of 6th Avenue Drive.

Garcia was last heard from on Sept. 11, 2020 when he was 30 years old.

Detectives executed a search warrant on the property, whom people call “The Peach Pit” after tips told them Garcia’s body might be buried at the location.

The Fresno County Public Works assisted detectives with heavy equipment to dig up areas of dirt, which unearthed human remains, FCSO spokesperson Tony Botti said.

The coroner confirmed it was Garcia.

Detectives are working to identify the people responsible.
