A man was shot Monday afternoon at a gas station in Fresno.

The shooting happened at 2 p.m. at Fresno and E streets at the Chevron, Fresno police spokesperson Luke Tran said.

Officers arrived and found a man in his 60s in the lot with at least one gunshot wound to the upper body.

The victim was taken to a hospital and was listed in critical condition.

Tran said the investigation is ongoing to determine what led up to the shooting, but said a vehicle fled from the crime scene.

Detectives are interviewing many witnesses that were near the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 559-621-7000.
