Woman wounded in shooting at Fresno motel. Police say a man approached officers
A woman was taken to a Fresno hospital Sunday night after she was shot at a motel.
Officers responded to the Gables Motel, located at California Avenue and Golden State Boulevard, at 10 p.m. and located a woman in her 30s with a gunshot wound to the torso, police said.
Officers provided first aid before she was taken to the hospital and was listed in critical but stable condition.
Police said a man in his 40s approached officers and it was determined he was involved in the incident.
Police said it appears that both woman and man were inside of a hotel room at the Gables Motel, when some type of an incident occurred, which resulted in the woman sustaining the gunshot wound.
Both have been detained and identified, police said.
Police are determining what led up to the shooting.
Detectives were on scene to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
