Man shot while walking in Fresno neighborhood, cops say. Words were exchanged with shooter

A man was hospitalized Saturday night after a shooting in a Fresno neighborhood.

Police said the shooting happened at 10 p.m. at Illinois Avenue, near Cedar Avenue.

Officers found a man with a single gunshot wound to his right shoulder.

He was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition.

Fresno Police Lt. Zeb Price said the victim was walking when a vehicle pulled up and words were exchanged before a shot was fired striking the man.

Police don’t have a suspect description.
